Golden Township Water Vessel Ordinance
Ordinance No. Seven
An ordinance to regulate the speed of vessels and to provide for the safe use of the waters in Golden Township, Oceana County; enacted under the authority of Act 303, Public Acts of 1967, as amended (M.S.A. 18.1287(17), being identical to State Administrative Rules filed in the Office of the Secretary or State.
The Township of Golden Ordains:
All words and phases used in this ordinance shall be construed and have the same meaning as those words and phrases defined in Act 303, P.A. 1967, as amended, M.S.A. 18.1287(8).
Regulation No. 64 Oceana County
R 281.764.4. Upper Silver Lake; high-speed boating and water skiing prohibited.
Rule 4. On the waters of Upper Silver Lake, sections 16, 17, 20 and 21 T15H, R18W, Golden Township, Oceana County, it is unlawful between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day for the operator of a vessel to :
a. Operate a vessel at high speed.
b. Have a tow, or otherwise assisting the propulsion of, a person on water skis, a water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.
All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Violations of this ordinance are a misdemeanor and may be punished by a fine not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) together with costs of prosecution or imprisonment in the county jail or such other place of detention as the court may prescribe, for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days, or said fine, costs of prosecution, and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court.
This ordinance and the various parts, sections, subsections, provisions, sentences and clauses are severable. I f any part of this ordinance is found to be unconstitutional or invalid it is declared the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected hereby.
This Ordinance shall be effective immediately 30 days after publication thereof.
